BIO

Darkwave/Pop outfit from Auckland, impressing audiences live with their driving, tight dance rhythms, described as the new champion of dark dance rock. "...the combination of opaque murk and vicious rhythm nonetheless makes 1995 a very attractive proposition..." Duncan Grieve, Editor, Real Groove Magazine.

1995's anticipated debut EP, GUILT, showcases the band's dark driving pop sound. With the release of GUILT, they have received an impressive amount of attention within New Zealand, and recent interest internationally has made for an exciting start for the band... The first two singles from the EP, A Red Forest and Gettin' Brainz both topping Bnet radio charts throughout NZ.

... swamp rock, sludgey dark art pop...

they have a taut intensity to them, their riveting haunts and bone-rattling crispness accentuated... with the tight songs and driving rhythms brought to life on stage...

a wall of impenetrable noise... their rhythm section was one of the sharpest and most impressive I've seen - EINSTEIN MUSIC JOURNAL Live Review

I think that this music is good if you want to dance, but my vote will go to a band with new musical ideas.

Review by: ricky, 08 October 2009

Not bad, Kinda cool sound. But doesnt have the hooks that Joy Division had which effectively makes the poor mans version of White Lies. Sounds harsh but its true. But if they have a good live show i could be forced to eat my words.
